Alternative Community Resource Program

Who We Are

Our History:

The Alternative Community Resource Program (ACRP) was founded in 1989 as an alternative to removing children & adolescents from their homes, enabling them to remain in the community and keeping the family unit intact. As a community partner, ACRP has an extensive history of developing programs and services that address the changing needs of the community, families and youth. During our agency’s history, ACRP has expanded its programs to service children, adolescents, adults, seniors, students and families through Child Welfare, Juvenile Justice, Educational System, the Courts, Mental and Behavioral Health, and the Community.

Our Mission:

Everyday in our region there are children, adolescents, and adults who struggle with abuse, neglect or psychological and emotional disorders that keep them from living a normal productive life. It is the mission of The Alternative Community Resource Program to respond to the needs of these individuals and their families. ACRP works as an alternative to placement while providing comprehensive programs and treatment to address emotional, behavioral, life, family, and educational issues. This service spectrum includes programs across Child Welfare, Juvenile Justice and the Court System, Education, Mental & Behavioral Health and the community. At ACRP individuals are afforded the opportunity for personal growth and development regardless of race, color, gender, religion, or sexual orientation. Since 1989 we have upheld our commitment to meet the needs of the children and families we serve.

What We Do

ACRP provides an array of programs across multiple systems. As an agency, ACRP may be associated with “a variety of services” that may have different meanings to each person – parenting skills, respite care, summer and after school services, life skill groups, education and tutoring, help with abuse & neglect issues, individual & family counseling & therapy, recreation, and most importantly someone to help them in a time of need. Our goal is to meet and address each individual's physical, emotional, social, cognitive, and creative needs.  Through ACRP’s continued expansion of services, provided by dedicated and professional staff, individuals are able to make positive change.
