Family Support Volunteers - Grief and Bereavement

Community Nursing Hospice Care continues to follow-up with family members and friends throughout their grief journey after the death of a patient.  Volunteers are needed to be part of our Bereavement team.

What do Bereavement Volunteers do?
As a Bereavement Volunteer, you will make phone calls and write cards and letters to family & friends after a patient passes away.  As part of the Hospice Interdisciplinary Team, you will learn how to talk to those going through the grieving process, how to let them know if they're getting better, and how to help them along their journey.

Are you a great listener?  Do you enjoy helping others? Are you looking for a flexible volunteer assignment where you can make a difference?  Contact Troy today at bugosht@upmc.edu , or 814-254-4116.

Why choose to volunteer with Community Nursing Hospice Care?
Some volunteers want to help others, some want career experience, and others benefit most from friendship. Whatever your reason, there are many benefits to being on our volunteer team. As a UPMC volunteer, training programs are provided to ensure you are prepared for a meaningful and fulfilling assignment.

*For the safety of our patients and families: references, interview, background check, training, and TB test are required/provided.
